ABOUT THE AUTHOR
David Peters divides his time between South Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley, Victoria.
After learning that the trial of Erin Patterson would be held in his hometown of Morwell, he began attending proceedings at the Latrobe Valley Law Courts, initially intending to observe for only one day. That first visit turned into many. He sat in the public gallery watching the trial unfold, including the verdict, and later attended the plea hearing, sentencing and appeal proceedings at the Supreme Court of Victoria in Melbourne.
Those firsthand experiences became the foundation for
Pray for the Prey — Inside the Trial of Erin Patterson.
This book reflects his observations from the public gallery, his connection to the local area, and his attempt to understand how an ordinary family lunch became one of Australia’s most closely watched criminal cases.
